Walk the Woodland trail of the Roe Jan Park and you are sure to come across ant hills, mounds of dirt hiding tunnels, chambers and rooms in an underground nest that can be one to several feet in diameter. In these nest ants live in colonies where some are farmers, gardeners, engineers, construction workers, tunnel diggers, babysitters, and soldiers.
