Let’s Build Trail Copake to Hillsdale Kickoff Party

3 – 4 PM Tour of Orphan Farm Trail Head
4 – 6:30 PM Reception and Silent Auction at “The Pond”
Residents can learn more about the effort to extend the Harlem Valley Rail Trail from Copake Falls to Hillsdale, and help contribute to the effort. Guided tours will be held at the site of a new trail head at Orphan Farm meadow from 3 – 4 PM. The free tour will take place on Orphan Farm Road in Copake, three miles south of the Hillsdale light on Route 22.
From 4 to 6:30 p.m., a fundraiser will take place at The Pond restaurant on Route 3 in Ancram, 2.1 miles west of Route 22. The event, which will include a silent auction, is $50 per person, with beer, wine and appetizers included. Both events are sponsored by the Harlem Valley Rail Trail Association and the Copake Hillsdale Rail Trail Alliance. For more information and reservations, go to hvrt.org or call 518 789-9591.
