This year, the 7th annual Seedy Saturday, co-hosted by Friends of Taconic State Park and Margaret Roach of A Way to Garden website, is celebrating the coming of spring a little differently. We’ll be welcomed for hands-on workshops to the home of Turtle Tree Seed at Camphill Village in Copake, New York, the nation’s leading biodynamic seed company.
Tickets required, $55; for more information and registration, see Friends of Taconic State Park website: http://www.friendsoftsp.org/event/march-25-7th-annual-seedy-saturday/.
Join Margaret Roach and our neighbors and friends from Turtle Tree for this special opportunity to visit their charming and inspiring headquarters at Camphill Village and learn by doing how to successfully grow from seed. Camphill Village is a community of people, some with special needs, who live and work together caring for each other and the Earth, following practices inspired by the teachings of Rudolf Steiner. Proceeds from the event benefit nonprofit Turtle Tree and Friends of Taconic State Park.
Each attendee will go home with a flat of sown seeds. You’ll also have a chance to shop from all 350 Turtle Tree seed varieties with expert staffers there to help make tough choices (unless you have room for all 350 in your garden!). Attendees are welcome to add on a tour of Camphill, or lunch at the Camphill coffee shop, and get to know this exceptional place better.
