Roe Jan Library’s First Annual Community Picnic

Roeliff Jansen Community Library will host a free Community Picnic Sunday August 20th at from noon to 3 pm. There will be presentations by Animal Embassy; lots of  food; music; and hats, books and bandannas for the kids.

Animal Embassy is dedicated to fostering appreciation and respect for the natural world and the incredible diversity of life on Earth. The main presentation called “Nature’s Architects” will take place between 1 -2 pm.  This will be followed a guided interactive session from 2 – 3 pm during which children (and adults) will be able to touch and hold select animals while learning about them.

Pat Placona, Library Board President says “Forget Barnum and Bailey! Step right up for the Roe Jan Library’s greatest community picnic!”

Food served will include hot dogs, veggie burgers, slaw, chips, drinks and ice cream, all free. The picnic will take place rain or shine. The Library circulation area will be closed this day.

This event is made possible by a grant from Rheinstrom Hill Community Foundation.
