Annual Pumpkin Fest in Hillsdale

HGS Home Chef:

  • Pumpkin Pie 101 plus,with Louise Robak (1:30 – 3:30) In celebration of the Hillsdale Pumpkin Festival, we are pursuing all things pumpkin in this baking class. Learn to make delicious from-scratch pumpkin pie in this hands-on class. Class cost $35.00
  • Join in the fun of the Hillsdale Pumpkin Festival by baking and bringing your best homemade pumpkin pie to our kitchen between 10 AM and 2:30 PM on Oct. 7th. At 3:30 pm, Chef David Wurth of CrossRoads Food Shop and Louise Roback, in-house cook at HGS Home Chef, will judge the pies.First place prize is a $100 gift certificate at HGS Home Chef. Second place prize is a $25 gift certificate at CrossRoads Food Shop. Participants are welcome back to the store at 4:30 PM to collect their pies (or what’s left of them!) to share with their fans. The winners will be announced on Facebook and contacted that evening with the good news.

Hillsdale General Store:

  • A count the candy in a jar contest for children age 9 and younger to win some goodies.
  • Free gift to any child who shows up in costume.(10-6)
  • A bake sale on the front porch to benefit the Hamlet Committee’s Beautifcation fund (11-3)
  • Cub Scout Pack 2130 will be outside the Hillsdale General Store selling popcorn for a fundraiser (11-3)
  • Stop by The Hillsdale General Store for an autumn tasting of les collines seasonal, small batch jelly and preserves! Learn how to use these locally sourced beauties for everything from cocktails to glazes, cheese boards to sauces. We’ll be sampling classics like Meyer Lemon Rosemary Jelly and Heirloom Tomato Butter as well as new fall flavors TBA. (12-2)

Hillsdale Wine & Liqour: Stop on in and join our Wine Tasting (1-4)

Honey Dog Farms: What’s screams fall more then a Hayride! Meet at Long Hill Farm, aka the farm by the Air Mail sign that is high up in the air. And gather beside the farmstand to load onto the wagon.   (2:30)

LabSpace: Pumpkin Carving for kids with their parents. People pay a nominal fee for their pumpkin (2-4)

Mirror Mirror:  Outside the store will be 2 large photo stands with cutouts, for taking photos, to be setup on front lawn of Mirror Mirror (All Day)

O’s Hillsdale Country Dinner: Yummy Pumpkin baked goods. (All Day)

Passiflora & Village Scoop: Donkey Hugs and Grab bag goodies. So many other great activities between Passiflora & Village Scoop that they needed their own poster! So be sure to check it out!

Roe-Jan Community Library:

  • Pumpkin storytime & decorating. (10:30)
  • Join us during the Pumpkin Festival as we sit back, relax and watch a Tim Burton Favorite Film! And what good is a movie without snacks? Don’t worry, Pizza & Goodies will be Provided!(5:30) Sign up is required so give us a call to reserve your place! 518-325-4101

Taconic Lawn & Garden: Activities will take place from (1-4)
