Hillsdale’s Historic Markers
Hillsdale has five known historical markers. Though the State stopped funding and installing historic markers in 1939, it will work with us to determine the appropriateness of additional markers. Case in point: the Wallace Bruce marker that was funded by Hillsdalers and installed in 2013.
By the way, New York’s historic markers are archived here. For some reason, the first three, below, are not included on the state list and the last two appear under Copake and Taghkanic. We have notified Robert Weible, State Historian and Chief Curator, about this shocking oversight (February 13, 2014).
