Founded in 1974, the Roeliff Jansen Historical Society serves the Towns of Ancram, Copake, Gallatin, Hillsdale and Taghkanic. Through publication, ongoing research, a speaker series, and a multimedia archive, the Society documents and conserves local history – too easily lost. Its mission is to bring recognition to the stories, skills, and traditions of local folks, past and present.

The presentation is at the Roeliff Jansen Museum in Copake Falls, a short distance off NY Route 22 at Route 344 and 8 Miles Road in the historic hamlet of Copake Falls, New York.
