SUMMARY:Stone Soup\, Eclectic Jazz at Roe Jan Library
DESCRIPTION:Stone Soup\, a locally based\, eclectic\, contemporary\, jazz-centered trio (guitar\, bass\, and drums) will appear at Roe Jan Library on Saturday\, July 20 at 5 pm. The group plays plays music spanning the musical genres of funk\, jazz-rock fusion\, American standards and original compositions. \nPaul Trapanese\, known as a virtuoso on the guitar\, is considered to be one of the best guitarists in Columbia County\, and beyond. He continues to raise the bar at every performance. Eric Miller\, bass\, and Steve Collins\, drums\, combine their years of experience playing across a multitude of musical situations to create the perfect base for Paul’s improvisations. The trio creates a very tight sensitive experience. They bring nationwide experience from San Francisco\, Santa Fe\, New York City\, and many points in between. \nThis concert is made possible with funds from the Decentralization Program\, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature and administered by the Greene County Council on the Arts.

SUMMARY:Library Benefit Golf Tournament
DESCRIPTION:The 11th Annual Roeliff Jansen Community Library (RJCL) Benefit Golf Tournament tees off on Sunday\, July 21 at the Undermountain Golf Course in Copake. Undermountain Golf Course is enjoyable for both experienced and less experienced golfers. \nEntrance fee is $80 per golfer ($65 for Undermountain Course members). Golf carts are available for an additional fee. Golfers will enjoy a round of golf\, win prizes\, and feast on tasty\, homemade foods (light breakfast\, lunch\, snacks\, and BBQ chicken dinner). Non-golfers may attend the dinner for $20. A portion of every entry fee will be donated to the Roe Jan Community Library. \nThis year’s tournament will feature a Putting Contest. For a $5 donation\, anyone may participate in the Putting Contest\, even if not registered for the tournament or the dinner.  Putters will be available or use your own. Prizes will be awarded at the dinner. \nDetails and entry forms for the Tournament are available at the Roe Jan Library\, online from the RJCL website at www.roejanlibrary.org — then click on Events/Programs\, and at the Undermountain Golf Course (518-329-4444).  Golfers should indicate their preference for an 8:30 am or a 1:00 pm start time. Entry forms and checks must be received by Undermountain Golf Course on or before July 17.
