West End Bridge Informational Meeting
The Town of Hillsdale has announced that a public informational meeting will be held to discuss the proposed Bridge Replacement of West End Road over Taghkanic Creek in the Town of Hillsdale. The meeting will be held at the Hillsdale Town Hall, located at 2609 NY-23, Hillsdale, NY, on December 8, 2026, at 6:00 P.M.
The Town, in cooperation with the Town’s consulting engineer, GreenmanPedersen Inc., the New York State Department of Transportation, the Federal Highway Administration, and the United States Army Corps of Engineers, is developing design alternatives for the replacement of the West End Road Bridge. The project proposes replacing the structurally deficient bridge with steel girders and a concrete bridge deck.
The purpose of the meeting is to obtain comments on the proposed project from individuals, groups, officials, and local agencies. The Town is specifically soliciting comments on the development of alternatives for the project and comments on the project’s social, economic, and environmental effects. This public informational meeting is part of the continuing efforts by the Town of Hillsdale, the New York State Department of Transportation, the Federal Highway Administration, and the United States Army Corps of Engineers to encourage public input into the development of transportation projects.
