About Our Parks
Hillsdale Park and Recreation oversees the development and maintenance of Hillsdale’s two wonderful parks – the Hamlet Park behind Town Hall and the Roeliff Jansen Park, just south of the Hamlet. Working with the Town Board, the committee ensures their important role in our community as safe places of fun, open space, learning, recreation, agriculture, and scenic beauty.
HAMLET PARK
Over the years, the park behind Hillsdale Town Hall has been home to town celebrations, summer youth programs, softball games, Egg Hunts and many other events. On Veteran’s Day in November 2009, we dedicated a much expanded memorial, pictured here, to those from Hillsdale who served in both World Wars, Korea and Vietnam. In recent years, the Hamlet Park has been home for our Farmer’s Markets.
ROELIFF JANSEN PARK
A scenic 300-acre farm and four-season, community-managed park with trails, alfalfa and corn fields, public parking and gorgeous views. Located just south of the Hamlet of Hillsdale, look for the entrance sign on the east side of Route 22 below a small bridge that crosses the Roeliff Jansen Kill.
