Multi-media Family Science Event at Roe Jan Library

Local, award-winning children’s science author, Seymour Simon, will present a multi-media event at Roe Jan Library on August 17 at 2pm.   The program will feature Simon’s new book, DESTINATION: MOON, which tells the thrilling story of America’s race to be the first to safely land humans on the moon. All children will receive a free copy of the book, signed by the author.

This program marks the end of Roe Jan’s Summer Reading Program – Out of This World Events for Kids.  Kids should be sure to bring their reading logs and turn them in for a prize!

Seymour Simon, whom the New York Times called “the dean of the [children’s science] field,” is the author of over 300 highly acclaimed science books, more than seventy-five of which have been named Outstanding Science Trade Books for Children by the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA).

Seymour Simon’s website, SeymourSimon.com, is a Webby Honoree online destination designed to engage children in science, reading and writing, as well as to provide families and educators with a rich array of free, downloadable resources to enhance their children’s reading experience.
