NYS DOT ROAD CLOSURE OF STATE ROUTE 23: Replacing critical infrastructure and ensuring the safety of the traveling public is of the utmost importance and this includes the upcoming replacement of the culvert along State Route 23 East of the State Route 22 intersection in the vicinity of Herrington’s. At this time, work is tentatively scheduled to begin on April 14, 2025.    As part of this project, DOT contractors will close State Route 23 to thru traffic between State Route NY 22 and Old Town Road, in the vicinity of Herringtons, on April 14, 2025. At that time, crews will begin removing the existing culvert that carries the Roeliff Jansen Kill Tributary under State Route 23 and installing a new culvert. The roadway will be replaced in kind.  This process will take approximately 8 weeks, weather permitting. State Route 23 will remain closed to all but local traffic between State Route 22 and Old Town Road for the duration of our work.

Town of Hillsdale, New York TAKE NOTICE that, pursuant to section 6-c of the New York General Municipal Law, a Resolution (Res. No. 75-2025) establishing a capital reserve fund entitled “Town of Hillsdale Salt Shed Reserve Fund” was adopted by the Hillsdale Town Board on May 15, 2025. Such Reserve Fund is established to accumulate and set aside one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) for a specific capital expenditure consisting of reconstruction of a Salt Shed at the Town Highway Garage. The adoption of such Resolution to establish such Reserve Fund is subject to a permissive referendum, and the establishment of such Reserve Fund shall take effect June 14, 2025, unless, in accordance with Article 7 of the New York State Town Law, within thirty days after the adoption of the Resolution to establish such Reserve Fund there be filed with the Hillsdale Town Clerk a petition protesting against its adoption and requesting that it be submitted to the electors of the Town.
