Agricultural District Info

The annual 30-day application period for landowners to request to be included in an existing state certified agricultural district, pursuant to NYS Agriculture & Markets Law  Article 25AA §303-b, is the month of October 2016 as designated by the Columbia County Board of Supervisors by Resolution No. 59-2004.

As in the past, the administration of this provision of the Agricultural Districts Program will be handled by Columbia County Planning and Economic Development (CCPED) with the cooperation of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Columbia County,  Stephen Hadcock, 518.828.3346 x106,  [email protected]. A press release and an application form are attached.

Any landowners interested in having their land added to an agricultural district may complete and submit this form, which may also be found on the Planning Department webpage.

While CCPED will be the lead for coordinating this process, the law requires that applications be filed with the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors on or before 4:00 pm on October 31, 2016 .
