The Roeliff Jansen Community Library will present and lead a discussion on the findings of the Community Conversations the library held in May and June, as well as the next steps based on the findings. Residents of Ancram, Copake, and Hillsdale are invited to join the discussion on Saturday, September 28 at 11 am at the library. The conversations provided an opportunity for participants to discuss what matters to them as members of the Roe Jan community and to better understand each other’s hopes, concerns, goals, and what might make a difference in strengthening this community.
Each conversation was guided by the same set of nine questions. Library Director Tammy Gaskell says, “Though the conversation participants were diverse, there were many commonalities to their hopes and their concerns. We are looking for additional input as well as support for the proposed next steps.”
The goal of the project is making the Roe Jan community stronger and helping groups within the community, including the library, work together more effectively.
